ALL packages should be picked up within 24 hours of the designated parties receiving a notification that their items are ready for pick up. Some helpful tips that may help with shipping & receiving services:

  • FedEx Shipment Requests must be submitted no later than 11:00 am for same day processing
  • Before inquiring with Receiving, we recommend you track the package you are looking for. If you are unsure what shipping service was used, simply enter the tracking number into a Google search and it can be found in most cases.
  • If you don't have a tracking number, please contact the transactor who completed the purchase and they can provide you with tracking information. When contacting the purchasing department, please have the following information ready: Requisition Number and/or PO number.
  • All incoming orders and packages delivered to the BMPN Mail/Receiving Room (Boyce 1415A) are scanned in. You will be contacted via email to pick-up packages. Please pick up all packages as soon as you are notified as we are limited on receiving space and receive several large shipments each day.
  • When you pick up your order, please make sure to communicate the pickup to your other lab personnel. A secondary email will also go out notifying the group about who picked up the order.
  • After you have inspected your shipment, please inform the BMPN Purchasing Office immediately of any damaged goods or shortages. The vendor will be contacted to resolve discrepancies and arrange for returns/replenishments.
  • If your lab is not located in Boyce Hall, then we do not get your packing slips or confirmations for delivery and rely on you to email us telling us you have received your orders and send us copies of your packing slips. Please send your order received confirmations and packing slip PDFs to BMPNpurchasing@ucr.edu.
Shipping Procedures and Forms

  • Dry Ice Procedures

Dry ice is considered a hazardous material and requires special care when shipping. In order to limit possible injury to handlers or damage to the product, dry ice shipments must be contained in a polystyrene foam container and shipped with an outer packaging. Please note that outer packaging made of polystyrene foam nor Fedex packaging can be used as outer packaging. However, good quality fiberboard (corrugated cardboard), plastic or wooden boxes can be used.
